Dr. Bawumia guarantees Ghanaians that the economy would be resurrected this year.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, according to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, would have a stronger economic performance this year.

He stated that the government of Akufo-Addo will work tirelessly to get the economy back on track.

Dr. Bawumia, speaking in Accra, said that while the COVID-19 pandemic has hampered some of the government's economic ambitions, the administration is working diligently to restore them.

"In the coming year, we will continue to work to free the economy from COVID-19's constraints," Dr. Bawumia added.

"We are also committed to our inclusive administration of the previous five years, in which we have invested in education and other sectors of the country," he continued.

The outbreak had an impact on enterprises in Ghana, leading several owners to declare firm closures or layoffs.
